FAQ

The Classic Tour starts at the YouBike station just in front of Exit 2, Taipei 101 MRT Station. You can take MRT red line to 101 MRT Station, then take Exit 2 (click here)

The Old City Tour starts at the YouBike station at the National Central Library / Chiang Kai-Shek MRT Station (click here)

You can recognize our tour guide with a white Taipei Biking T-Shirt / flag saying “Taipei Biking” 🙂

We supply the bikes (Youbike) and helmets (upon request). All you need is a hat and sunscreen if we are expecting a hot day or a rain jacket if you are concerned about the weather (or both, this is Taipei afterall!).

We will also provide you with a poncho in case of rain and water … so no worries 🙂

Reservations are required for all our tours as we do want to keep the groups small in order to get the most out of this tour.

Please book online through this website (click here) or contact us if you cannot pay in advance (click here).

All reservations must be done at least one day before the tour starts.

In the hopefully unlikely event that you have to cancel our tour, please let us know about your cancelation (contact us) at least 2 days before the tour starts. We will refund you the full amount minus 10% service charge.

Due to limited space on our tours, no refund is possible within 2 days of tour departure.

Our Classic Tour last around 4.5hrs, our Old City Tour last around 2.5hrs. If you are pressed for time or prefer a different start time, we would advise booking a private tour with us at a more suitable hour.

Our Classic Tour covers around 25km in 4-5 hours / our Old City Tour covers around 15km in 2-3 hours so an ability to cover this ground and keep up with the group is a must.

If this doesn’t suit you, we do offer private tours where we can be a bit more flexible and customize it to your needs (Contact Us)

No problem! Our tours are designed to be easy for everyone – anyone can do these tours! Taipei is a flat and bike friendly city.

Yes, our tours run rain or shine. We have ponchos available for anyone that needs them. Always a good tip: Bring extra clothes in case it rains, or gets chilly.

During severe weather (strong rain / Typhoon), however, the ride will be canceled and you will be eligible for a full refund minus 10%. We will let you know about ride cancellations at least 1.5 hours in advance.

If it starts raining heavily in the middle of the tour, so that we can’t continue the ride the guide will bring you to the next MRT station. In this situation, you will get 50% refund.

Check the weather forecast to be optimal prepared (click here) 🙂

We will be using Taipei’s Youbike‘s. Those are 3-speed city bikes that comfortably fit all those between 140cm and 200cm.

You get the bikes, helmets (upon request), water, breakfast (Classic Tour) and ponchos in case of rain. In addition we will keep a little surprise for you 🙂

Unfortunately we do not offer any luggage storage as we meet directly at the YouBike station!

For the Classic Tour, we recommend you to store your luggage at a public locker on the way to 101 MRT station Exit 4. For the Old City Tour, unfortunately there are no public locker.

Our tours are offered for kids above 14 years.

No worries, our guides are experienced bikers and we will try to avoid big roads and difficult traffic situations as much as possible. Helmets can be booked upon request. Of course general traffic rules must be followed.

Note: We are not offering any insurance for our bike tours.

As long-time Taipei residents, we have explored every nook and cranny of this amazing city. We bring you to places that you might not have otherwise found on your own.

Because of our years of experience working in the active travel industry, we offer a personalized level of service that you will not find elsewhere.

I did a couple of bike tours in Taipei but this was one of the best as we really went local. I almost felt like a Taipeinese for a couple of hours. Thanks Mia and Leo!

Tainan, Taiwan

Only had a layover in Taipei and decided to join the old city tour with the bike tour. Best layover I ever had. Such a refreshing and cool ride through this city. Taiwan is definitely on my bucket list now.
